The conference brought together 58 international and humanitarian organizations providing cash assistance to IDPs and representatives of the Ukrainian government to coordinate international assistance and domestic fiscal policy to maximize support for IDPs. The event was supported by the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program.
USAID RADA Next Generation is a five-year initiative (2021-2026), implemented by the “Internews Ukraine” NGO, that aims to advance the “next generation” of reforms that will enable the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (VRU) to become a modern, effective institution that promotes accountability and democratic development in Ukraine.
In May and June, the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program provided two training sessions for 4 employees of the Computer System Office of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to promote cybersecurity and improve the management of critical IT systems in the Parliament.
The USAID RADA: Next Generation Program organized two trainings on "Chat GPT Functionality and Query Writing Features" and "Hybrid Work Tools: Deepl," which were attended by more than 25 staff members of the VRU Secretariat. In May, the Program provided the Information Office, the Press Service of the VRU Secretariat, and 4 parliamentary committees with Chat GPT and DeepL services to strengthen the capacity of the institutions.
On the occasion of the International Children's Day, the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program, together with the VRU Educational Center and the Agency for Educational Policy Development, organized a workshop on parliamentary civic education titled "We Are Lawmakers!". About a hundred Ukrainian schoolchildren took part in the workshop, deepening their knowledge of the parliament in an interactive manner.
Seven selected interns will embark on a six-month journey to study with leading Ukrainian experts, participate in the work of various departments within the Parliamentary Research Service, and prepare analytical documents for the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This initiative, organized and funded by the USAID RADA: Next Generation, also provides scholarships for the interns.
The USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program organized a donor coordination meeting “Parliament in the Time of War: Trust, Interaction, Openness, Legislative Process. Opinion of Citizens and the Expert Community", involving more than 70 participants, including MPs, representatives of the VRU committees and Secretariat, experts, international organizations, and the public.
