During the conference, our experts will present functional and organizational models of the Parliamentary Budget Office, and the participants will discuss the challenges, opportunities, and prospects of creating such an office in Ukraine.
The USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program is organizing a roundtable discussion on December 6 titled: "Building a Gender-Sensitive Parliament: EU Experience for Ukraine." Objective – to discuss the concept of a gender-sensitive parliament and assess strategies used by European parliaments to introduce gender mainstreaming tools into the legislative process.
Supported by the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program, the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans' Rights and the Inter-Factional Deputy Association “Rehabilitation Forces of Ukraine” together with partners are organizing the fourth forum “Veterans - the Way Home” on October 11-12, which will be held in Ivano-Frankivsk. The forum participants, including veterans, communities and non-governmental organizations, will discuss key topics such as psychological recovery, economic independence, sport, education and the creation of veterans' spaces.
Within the USAID Rada: Next Generation Program, Internews Ukraine announces a competition among non-governmental organizations to implement projects intended to involve citizens in the legislative process and oversight capacities, in particular through building interaction between MPs (parliamentary factions, committees) and their constituents, engaging citizens in the work of the Parliament, communicating reforms, and conducting public consultations.
On September 16, the USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program will organize the Forum of Democratic Lawmaking that will bring together representatives of the Verkhovna Rada, civil society organizations, and donors. We will jointly seek solutions to the challenges facing Ukraine's parliamentary democracy.
Ukrainian communities should already be preparing and developing plans to help defenders return to normal life, become a partner for veterans and a reliable service provider. Therefore, with the support of the USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program, the VRU Committee on Social Policy and the Inter-Factional Deputy Association "Rehabilitation Forces of Ukraine" are organizing a veterans' forum on August 9 in Zviahel.
