The USAID RADA: Next Generation Program conducted a functional analysis of the work of the VRU Committee on Freedom of Speech to study key aspects of the Committee's activities, optimize its work, improve certain procedures and algorithms, and increase its efficiency and effectiveness.

The USAID RADA: Next Generation Program developed handbooks with detailed information about the corresponding committees in the parliaments of EU member states. These handbooks will serve as valuable tools for deepening cooperation between the Ukrainian and European parliaments and foster a better understanding of the structure and functioning of the committees, establish effective communication channels, and facilitate a successful exchange of experiences.
The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities, with the support of the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program, conducted an assessment of the effectiveness of the Law on the Natural Gas Market. The Program experts used the British methodology of post-legislative scrutiny to improve the legislation and strengthen the oversight function of the committees.

The VRU Committee on Youth and Sports, with the support of the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program, conducted an analysis of the effectiveness of the application of certain provisions of the Law of Ukraine “On the Basic Principles of Youth Policy.” The Program experts adapted the British methodology of post-legislative scrutiny to Ukrainian realities and tested it in cooperation with the Committee to improve the legislation and strengthen the oversight function of the committees.

USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program experts prepared and presented an information brief during the roundtable of the VRU Committee on Freedom of Speech. The info brief includes analysis of the regulatory framework for journalists' work during wartime in Ukraine, the United States, Israel, and the United Kingdom and the global experience and practice of war journalism.

USAID Rada: Next Generation Program conducted research on the best practices of Verkhovna Rada’s Committees’ activity in implementing their principal functions. The report contains samples of successful cases of Committees’ activity and recommendations to improve Committees’ work and strengthen the efficiency of parliamentary processes.

USAID RADA: Next Generation Program analyzed the social networks of the Committee on State Building, Local Governance, Regional and Urban Development and provided recommendations for improving the effectiveness of its communication. Social networks' presence, activity, and relevance are the markers of an institution’s transparency, accountability, responsibility, and concern for its audience.

The Program experts adapted the British methodology of post-legislative scrutiny to the Ukrainian context. They tested it in cooperation with the Committee to improve the legislation and strengthen the oversight function of the committees.
