Ukrainian Regional Media Guide 2021

Internews Ukraine presents the Ukrainian Regional Media Guide 2021 — an English-language overview of Ukraine's regional media landscape with the most up-to-date information on more than 400 media outlets in all Ukraine regions, including the temporarily occupied territories.

Ukrainian Regional Media Guide 2021 is part of a comprehensive study of Ukraine's regional media. In 2019-2020, Internews Ukraine experts conducted in-depth interviews with more than 60 journalists, media managers, and media analysts from different Ukraine regions. The goal was to identify the significant media trends, regional media, and players that influence the regional media market of Ukraine.

As part of the study, analysts also prepared two reviews: the first revealed how the COVID-19 pandemic had affected the work of regional media in Ukraine; the second explained how politicians used social media during the 2020 local elections.

In the new Ukrainian Regional Media Guide 2021 report, Internews Ukraine experts:
  • recorded the main changes that had happened in Ukraine's regional media space after the 2020 local elections;
  • updated information on the official media owners and personalities influencing the work of Ukraine's regional media;
  • described new regional media that had appeared or become more prevalent in recent years.
