The winners will receive money rewards, awards from top officials of the Ministry for Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, and the opportunity to participate in an international event.

More than 1,000 media representatives have taken part, and more than 70 of them have become winners in the largest contest for journalists from the Ministry since 2016. Given the contest’s success, the Ministry’s top levels of management decided to extend it until 2020.

THERE ARE NOMINATIONS OF MATERIALS AS:

• online publication,
• article in press,
• radio spot,
• video footage.

Materials should be published for the first time from January 1, 2020, to September 30, 2020, in local media (regional, district, or provincial). To participate in the Contest fill out the online application until September 30, 2020 (inclusive). You can submit no more than one contest material in each of the nominations (for each material it is necessary to fill in each application).

TOPICS FOR CONTEST MATERIALS COULD BE:

• Success stories of decentralization reform on the ground.
• Living in the amalgamated community before and after amalgamation.
• Cooperation of amalgamated community for the welfare of the residents.
• Success stories and good approaches implemented in communities that have proven their effectiveness: interaction between government and the community, improving the quality of educational services, creating a safe, comfortable and attractive living environment, etc.
• Community best practices in combating COVID-19 and overcoming the effects of the pandemic.
• The comprehensive list of contest topics you could find in the leaflet.

THE PRIZE VALUE

In each of the four nominations provided three prizes*:

• First prize - UAH 20,000,
• Second prize - UAH 15,000,
• Third prize - UAH 10,000.

The winners will also be invited to participate in an international event on the development of local and regional democracy**.
