Internews Ukraine Invites Media Professionals from India, the Philippines, and South Africa to a Press Tour in Ukraine
The NGO Internews Ukraine, with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation, is organizing a press tour to Ukraine for foreign media professionals. Journalists, bloggers, and influencers from India, the Philippines, and South Africa will have an opportunity to witness firsthand how Ukraine is resisting Russian aggression and to meet the people who, despite the ongoing war, continue to develop Ukrainian culture and innovations.
When: May 11–14, 2025.
Where: Kyiv and nearby de-occupied territories.
During four days, participants will:
- visit Ukraine’s capital and liberated areas to observe the country's restoration process;
- meet with representatives of national and local authorities, military-related NGOs, charitable foundations, volunteers, and activists;
- take part in discussions with Ukrainian opinion leaders and heads of cultural institutions.
Who can participate:
- Journalists, bloggers and influencers from India, the Philippines, and South Africa, currently residing in these or other countries.
- Journalists must be affiliated with media from the participating countries, either as full-time employees or freelancers.
- Bloggers and influencers must run blogs targeting audiences in the participating countries.
Selection process:
- By March 16 (11:59 PM EET, UTC+2), interested candidates must fill out an application form.
- On March 19, a shortlist of candidates will be announced.
- On March 20–21, interviews with the pre-selected candidates will take place.
- On March 26, the selected candidates will be announced.
Logistics and support Before the press tour, selected participants must have or obtain two visas: a Ukrainian visa and a transit visa (Schengen or Moldovan). Organizers will provide an invitation letter to facilitate the visa process.
The organizers will cover accommodation, meals, and transportation expenses within Ukraine. They will also reimburse visa and travel expenses to and from Ukraine within set limits (details will be provided to selected participants).
Each participant must publish at least one article, report, interview, or column about Ukraine after the tour. A fee will be provided for the publication.
