Strengthening VRU Research Service's monitoring and evaluation capacities

The USAID RADA: The Next Generation Program conducted a strategic session for the staff of the VRU Research Service, focusing on enhancing the institution's monitoring and evaluation capacities.

The Research Service plays a crucial role in providing the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine with unbiased information, top-notch analytics, and professional training. Its efforts directly impact the quality of parliamentary decisions that affect every Ukrainian.

Recognizing the importance of the Research Service, USAID “RADA: The Next Generation” Program has consistently supported its growth and development, including through strategic sessions. Previous sessions focused on strategy development and reviewing the institution's work during the first year.

The strategic session focused on monitoring and evaluating the Research Service's activities. Through self-analysis, the Research Service aims to enhance its effectiveness, adaptability, and product quality.

During the two-day strategic session, the Research Service team:

  • Explored various monitoring and evaluation approaches and methods,
  • Identified potential indicators for assessing the SRSU's activities,
  • Reviewed their accomplishments in 2023,
  • Discussed amendments to the State Agency's regulations and outlined priorities for the upcoming year.

Following the session, the USAID “RADA: Next Generation” Program will propose key indicators to help the Research Service effectively monitor and evaluate its performance.
