Developing partnerships between Ukrainian and British MPs at constituency level

The USAID RADA: Next Generation Program implements the Peer-to-Peer Project to exchange experience between Ukrainian and foreign parliamentarians at the constituency level in order to:

1. improve work in the constituency and interaction with voters;
2. increase the effectiveness of solving problems of voters and the constituency in the wartime and post-war period;
3. raise awareness of partners and citizens abroad about the situation in Ukraine and its needs.

The Program, together with partners from the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, developed such a partnership between 5 Ukrainian and 5 British MPs and now conducts study visits of Ukrainian MPs to their colleagues in British constituencies.

Volodymyr Kreydenko, a member of the Ukrainian parliament, began his visit by working with British MP Anthony Higginbotham. Together they have already visited the House of Commons and held fruitful talks.

"We talk about supporting Ukraine. I am getting acquainted with the best practices and traditions of sustainable parliamentarism. We discussed reforms in the field of railway transport in Ukraine and the UK, as well as the prospects for cooperation in transportation and infrastructure," – Kreydenko shared the results of the meetings.
