Ukraine’s Parliament renewed the “hour of questions to the government” and would make the Coordination Board of factions and groups public again for the first time since the start of the Russian full-scale war.
Oleksiy Honcharenko, MP, European Solidarity, noted the “hour of questions to the government” was restored in the Parliament.
According to the Rules of Procedures, the “hour of questions to the government” is scheduled on Friday from 10-11 a.m.
Iryna Gerashschenko, MP, European Solidarity, noted that the Coordination Board of factions and groups of the Verkhovna Rada will now be public.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the Coordination Board of factions and groups has been arranged online and hasn’t been public since late February 2022.

Program helped the Parliamentary Education Center (PEC) conduct an online forum dedicated to International Teachers' Day on October 5. PEC presented the Concept of the Parliamentary Ambassadors Program of the VRU, which developed after RANG arranged study visits for PEC to the Education Center of the UK Parliament in April and June 2023. More than 150 participants joined the event, including teachers of the network of civic education organized by the RANG partner, Agency for Educational Policy Development, AEPD, and who participated in a training course organized by the PEC in cooperation with the RANG partner AEPD in January-March this year. RANG will support the establishment and development of the Parliamentary Ambassadors Program. During the event, Marс Ellingstad, Director of the Office of Democracy and Governance of the USAID Mission in Ukraine and Deputy Head of the VRU Committee on Education, Science and Innovations, delivered welcoming remarks. Representatives of the Education Center of the UK Parliament also participated: Frances Jeens, Head of Education and Engagement at the UK Parliament and David Carr, Senior Teacher Training Specialist of Education and Engagement, curator of the Parliamentary Ambassadors Program. The event helped present the experience of implementing the Teachers Ambassadors Program in the UK Parliament to the VRU Secretariat and VRU leadership to implement the program in Ukraine’s parliament.
Program helped the Parliamentary Education Center arrange a lesson for Mechnykov Odesa National University students. On October 2, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk participated in the live parliamentary education event held in Odesa for the Mechnykov Odesa National University students. One hundred students specializing in history, politology, and international relations had an opportunity in the live Q&A session with the Vice Speaker to find out how the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has been functioning during wartime, as well as ask burning questions on Ukraine’s EU integration, rebuilding the country after the war and the role of youth in these processes.
Program agreed on further cooperation with the leadership and secretariat of the Servant of the People faction to strengthen the faction’s capacity. On October 4, RANG met with the leadership and secretariat of the Servant of the People faction to discuss further cooperation in strengthening the faction’s secretariat capacity in the context of interaction and engagement with voters. Deputy Head of the faction MP Andrii Motovylovets, Head of the Secretariat Taras Melnychuk, and Deputy Head of the Secretariat Denys Zhernovyi participated in the meeting. They discussed citizens' awareness of the place and role of the parliament and the powers of MPs, the need to strengthen civic education, parliamentary civic education, communication of VRU decisions and their impact on the target audience, and MPs' interaction with various types of voters, including crisis communications. Parties agreed to conduct strategic sessions for the faction secretariat and MPs to identify the status and needs of the faction and the faction secretariat in the context of communication and interaction with voters and to develop an action plan to strengthen the capacity of the faction secretariat.
Program met with the NGO European Youth Parliament Ukraine on October 6, 2023. The Head of PEC and RANG partner AEPD joined the event. NGO Youth European Parliament Ukraine is the leading NGO in modeling the work of the European Parliament. The parties discussed the prospects of further cooperation in the context of the new formats of PEC and VRU interaction with youth and PEC involvement in the events with youth organized by EYPU.
