Program completed a series of trainings for Ombudsman's Office of Ukraine

Eight trainings, spanning almost 20 days and dozens of participants – USAID RADA: Next Generation Program has successfully concluded a series of training sessions for the Ombudsman's Office of Ukraine. The training was organized at the request of the Office and is aimed at strengthening the institutional capacity of parliamentary oversight bodies.

The training sessions covered a wide array of topics, including:

• Public participation in parliamentary work and the legislative process, including advocacy.
• Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
• VRU oversight function.
• The fundamentals of policy analysis.
• The policy formation process and the complete cycle of legislative oversight.
• Legislation approximation to EU law, focusing on practical aspects of the Verkhovna Rada.

USAID RADA: Next Generation conducted an interactive session, some workshops were held in person. This allowed the Ombudsman's Office employees to foster stronger bonds and collaborate more closely. They worked together to find solutions to social issues, drawing from the international experiences of advanced democracies, and experimented with new tools and approaches.

One of the participants expressed their gratitude and appreciation, stating, "Thank you very much for the knowledge provided, the interactive sessions, and the opportunity to communicate and clarify various points for a comprehensive understanding of policy, as well as its development and implementation. Participants managed to obtain both practical and theoretical skills, which is highly relevant to our country."

USAID RADA: Next Generation Program is committed to continuing these training sessions for parliamentary oversight bodies and other representatives of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This ongoing effort ensures their consistent professional development and the strengthening of their capacities.
