Breaking records in parliamentary education: tens of thousands of Ukrainian schoolchildren participated in an online lesson commemorating the second anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine!
With USAID “RADA: Next Generation” Program and American Councils for International Education support, the Parliamentary Education Center hosted a special lesson, drawing over 31,000 students, including those from the frontline and previously occupied cities.
The lesson commenced with a video message from VRU Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. "Starting from the first meeting, which took place at 7 a.m. on February 24, 2022, and until now, the Ukrainian Parliament has been doing everything to ensure that fundamental and relevant laws are on the agenda and that the necessary decisions are made. These are laws aimed at strengthening the defense capability of our country, supporting the Ukrainian economy, social protection of the Ukrainian people, and political decisions that unite us with the whole world. Despite the war, Ukraine is moving towards its goal. And this goal is full membership in the EU and NATO," - Ruslan Stefanchuk said.
Throughout the session, students learned about Ukrainian historical figures and contemporary soldiers' bravery. Combat brigade representatives even joined in, sharing greetings from the battlefield and underscoring the significance of the fight for independence. Additionally, students gained insights into how the Ukrainian Parliament operates during wartime.
The lesson concluded with an interactive quiz to reinforce acquired knowledge, with prizes awarded by the Parliamentary Education Center.
