Within the framework of the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program, the Association "Educational Policy Development Agency" has developed a training course "Our Parliament: Exploring, Understanding, Influencing," which has recently received the stamp of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine "Approved for Use in the Educational Process."
This is a course for students of primary, basic and complete secondary education and out-of-school education institutions, which aims to introduce parliamentary education in educational institutions of Ukraine. The course has already been tested in the network of parliamentary education centers supported by the RADA: Next Generation Program, which currently includes more than 40 educational institutions in different regions of Ukraine.
During the presentation on August 28, which was attended by more than 50 educators, the course developers spoke about the importance of parliamentary education, the specifics of the programs, and how to organically integrate the course into the educational process.
"These courses are not just about teaching the basics of parliamentarism, but also about giving young people the keys to understanding the mechanisms of the state's functioning and their role in it, and encouraging them to actively participate in public life. Children and youth are the future of Ukraine, and our tomorrow depends on their education as responsible citizens today," said Marten Ehnberg, Director of the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program.
The event was also attended by the head of the Educational Center of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. She explained how educators can interact with the parliamentary center and what opportunities are being prepared for them.
The methodological guide and curriculum of the course "Our Parliament: Exploring, Understanding, Influencing" are available on our website.
