USAID Rada: Next Generation Program together with its partners held a coordination meeting with the VRU Secretariat’s leadership and representatives of its structural departments.
The main purpose of the meeting was to sum up the results of cooperation during the program year and to plan activities for the coming year within the Program’s three main objectives:
The heads of the VRU Secretariat’s units presented their suggestions and proposals for further cooperation. As a result, the participants managed to synchronize priorities and develop a common vision of a plan of activities to facilitate the VRU’s development as an open and democratic European institution.
In working groups, the participants discussed in detail the strategy for strengthening the capacity of the VRU Secretariat, the VRU Research Service, the VRU Education Center, and parliamentary committees. In particular, the parties discussed the issue of establishing a budget and law-making office, the VRU’s digitalization, and the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue.
According to the meeting’s results, USAID Rada: Next Generation Program and the VRU Secretariat agreed to approve a joint action plan.
A strong parliament is the hardcore of democracy and public trust!
