In this challenging and crucial time for Ukraine, the representative function of the Parliament becomes even more critical, as it is important for each MP to keep in touch with the voters, support communities, study their problems and respond to their needs. Such interaction affects the level of trust in the Parliament as an institution.
In wartime, legislation rapidly changes, and many issues that require communication with citizens arise (e.g., temporary displacement of citizens, relocation, business organization and operation, local government, rights and obligations of various categories of citizens, administrative procedures, etc.).
Close cooperation between MPs and target audiences (non-governmental organizations, military administrations, local governments, business communities, professional communities, etc.) also requires special approaches to addressing wartime challenges.
In response to these challenges and needs, the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program has announced a grant initiative "Citizens and Parliament: Democratic Representation and Effective Interaction under Martial Law."
