In 2022, the USAID RADA: Next Generation Program initiated Peer-to-Peer Support in Constituencies Project to build strong partnerships between Ukrainian MPs and members of other parliaments in order to address challenges brought by russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Ukrainian MPs had to rapidly design and implement new models of interactions with their constituents to help people cope with their problems and explain legal changes caused by the introduction of martial law.
Project Model
Two members of parliaments (Ukrainian and foreign) establish a partnership in which foreign colleagues assist Ukrainian MPs in working to help solve constituent issues during and after the war. This bridge approach ensures Ukrainian MPs' collaboration with their international counterparts to communicate with and take care of their constituents who were forced to temporarily leave Ukraine due to the war.
