
On May 15, the parliamentary-municipal forum dialogue “Housing for Internally Displaced Persons” starts. It is organized by the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Protection of the Rights of IDPs and Other Persons with the support of the USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program.
The Program promotes active interaction between the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and its constituents, helps organize parliamentary and municipal forums in different regions of Ukraine, engages stakeholders in the legislative process, studies the needs of voters, and jointly develops solutions.
The forum will be attended by MPs, representatives of the government, local authorities, territorial communities, NGOs, and international partners. More than 140 participants are expected!

The next day, the participants will hold field meetings with internally displaced persons in Zakarpattia region. On Friday, a hearing of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine will take place to discuss the work of local authorities and how to improve the legislation on housing for IDPs.
The USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program supports the activities of the VRU Temporary Special Commission to strengthen parliamentary oversight over issues of importance to the country, including martial law.
