
The USAID "RADA: Next Generation" Program is organizing a conference on July 8 on "Openness of the Verkhovna Rada and Parliamentary Diplomacy in Times of War. " This year, the Inter-Parliamentary Union celebrates its 135th anniversary on June 30, International Day of Parliamentarism, and has announced the main topic for discussion: "Parliamentary Diplomacy: Building Bridges for Peace and Understanding."
Therefore, the "RADA: Next Generation" Program gathers representatives of the leadership, Secretariat, and Committees of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, MPs, international experts, civil society, diplomats, and donors to discuss the achievements and challenges which Ukrainian parliamentarism is facing in the context of war.

The conference will focus on the role of the Verkhovna Rada in diplomatic relations, including securing the support of partners in countering Russian aggression, gaining EU membership, and assisting in post-war reconstruction. Participants will also discuss tools of openness, transparency, and accountability of the parliament, mechanisms of public consultations, and engagement of citizens in parliamentary processes.
